SpaceX Says Starship Flight 14 Will Generate Revenue With Starlink V3

SpaceX CFO Bret Johnsen told investors at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia and Technology Conference on September 10, 2026, that the company’s upcoming Starship Flight 14 later this month is set to generate revenue by flying production Version 3 Starlink satellites into operational orbit.

Johnsen framed the mission as the shift from demonstration flights toward a steadier production cadence for Starship, with Starlink V3 satellites as the commercial payload that turns the next hop into a revenue flight. SpaceX had already filed Flight 14 as the program’s first genuine orbital insertion attempt after earlier suborbital tests, and the Goldman appearance put a cash-flow label on that mid-September window.

The CFO also reiterated the company’s AI infrastructure push, describing orbital compute satellites as targeted for first launches next year with scale into 2028, while terrestrial AI compute remains on a path toward a $100 billion annualized revenue run rate by year-end. Vertical integration across rockets, communications, and AI infrastructure was the through-line of the fireside chat SpaceX promoted live from its investor-relations events page.

Flight 14 follows a summer of Starship progress that included Flight 13 milestones and a full-duration six-Raptor static fire on the ship assigned to the attempt. If the orbital burn holds and the V3 stack separates as planned, the flight would be the clearest proof yet that Starship is leaving pure test mode and starting to earn money for Starlink capacity.
