Starlink said Starlink Mobile is now available in Panama with +Móvil, giving people messaging apps, maps, and SMS in places that previously had no cellphone signal. The official September 16 post quotes the local carrier’s own launch note and frames this as a direct-to-phone satellite link, not a new dish sale.
+Móvil is selling the service as Más Starlink, aimed at rural, mountain, maritime, indigenous, island, and tourism zones where terrestrial coverage drops out. Compatible LTE Android phones can use WhatsApp calls and messages, Google Maps, X, and SMS when the handset sees open sky and the line has data and roaming enabled, with no extra satellite roaming fee in the carrier’s description. Apple support is listed for December 2026.
That is the same Starlink Mobile stack SpaceX has been expanding through carrier partners after Mobile World Congress, the consumer name for the direct-to-phone service once called Direct to Cell. Costa Rica with Liberty got a similar Latin America launch in late August, and Europe’s 4iG deal put Hungary and Albania on the map earlier this month. Customers stay on ordinary phones; satellites act as towers in space when the ground network disappears.
Pricing sits with the carrier. New +Móvil postpaid plans that include Más Starlink start at B/.26 a month, prepaid intro packs are listed at B/.3 for seven days or B/.5 for 30 days, and the service became available September 16, 2026, according to +Móvil’s launch materials. Starlink’s own post did not restate those retail numbers. For readers already watching Starlink residential dishes, this is a separate phone product; Panama is the latest carrier market where the mobile side is live.
