Tesla Cybercab Seats Hit Wheelchair Height for Easy Transfers

Tesla Cybercab

Tesla Robotaxi said on September 5, 2026 that Cybercab seats are built at standard wheelchair height, making ingress and egress easier after quoting a paraplegic rider who gave the Austin robotaxi a 10/10.

“Wheelchair user rides in Cybercab,” the official account wrote. “Cybercab seats are built at standard wheelchair height, making ingress & egress easy.”

The post quoted Anthony Sanchez, who shared video of using a Tesla Cybercab as a paraplegic and tagged Robotaxi. Tesla Robotaxi followed up minutes later with another accessibility note, “Built to accommodate every rider,” quoting a cabin photo that highlighted floor space for a service dog, wheelchair, or other gear.

The design pitch fits Tesla’s broader accessibility push for the purpose-built robotaxi. The company has already shown Braille cabin cues and earlier demos for blind riders that framed Cybercab as a living-room layout rather than a conventional driver’s seat. Matching seat height to a standard wheelchair transfer is a more physical claim: the cabin is meant to line up with the chair instead of forcing a climb.

Public Cybercab rides opened in Austin this week alongside Model Y robotaxis, and the Robotaxi app has been climbing Apple’s free Travel charts. Accessibility details matter because a two-seat wheel-free cabin only works for more riders if getting in stays simple. Tesla has not published a full wheelchair-accessible vehicle specification or a dedicated securement system in those posts, so the company’s own wording so far centers on seat height and open floor space.

Watch for more official cabin specs as Tesla expands Cybercab beyond Austin.
