Tesla Robotaxi Hits No. 1 Free Travel App on the App Store
Tesla’s Robotaxi account on X said the app is the top free title in Apple’s Travel category, sharing an App Store screenshot that puts Tesla Robotaxi at No. 1 on the Top Downloaded Free Apps chart.
The screenshot shows the listing under Free Apps in Travel, with the Tesla Robotaxi icon, the subtitle “Autonomous Ride Service,” and an Open button, meaning the chart capture came from a phone that already had the app installed. The post did not include download counts, chart country, or how long the No. 1 spot held.
The flex lands in the same week Cybercab opened to public riders in Austin and Tesla pushed cabin features that make the Robotaxi app the front door to the service. Riders already book and manage trips through that app, per Tesla’s Cybercab Rider Guide, and the company moved public Cybercab hours up to 2:00 p.m. Central Time after strong demand.
App Store rankings swing hour to hour, so the chart is a snapshot rather than a lasting scoreboard. Even so, topping free Travel during Cybercab’s first public week underscores how quickly the Robotaxi booking funnel is getting attention beyond Tesla’s own channels, alongside other launch-week beats like talk of overnight service on the v15 roadmap.
