Tesla said its 2026 Summer Release is using Grok Think Fast 2.0, putting the new voice model in the car instead of waiting on a later Grok Voice drop.
The company posted that line on August 26, quoting a SpaceXAI note from August 24 that Grok Voice Think Fast 2.0 is now number one on the Artificial Analysis Speech-to-Speech Index. That benchmark scores whether a voice agent can reason over what it hears, resolve real customer issues, and finish tasks with agent tools.
Starlink is already running Grok Voice on more than 15,000 inbound support and sales calls a day. Putting Think Fast 2.0 in the Summer Release means the same family of models is answering in the car, not only on the support line.
Tesla outlined the Summer Release in July with expanded Grok commands, Hey Grok, navigation, and app features. The new confirmation is about the voice stack inside that software. Owners with Premium Connectivity or Wi-Fi can talk to Grok from the car, and Tesla did not say every market has Think Fast 2.0 yet.
A faster voice model matters because Grok can already place calls, play music, set climate, and search Controls. Tesla is tying that in-car assistant to the same stack SpaceXAI is using for Starlink, so watch the software version in the Tesla app for the Summer Release build.
