Tesla has showcased the first
Cybercab vehicle equipped with direct
Starlink satellite connectivity, marking a major milestone for its upcoming autonomous taxi platform.
In a post shared on
X, the official Tesla Robotaxi account published images of a gold-finished Cybercab featuring a custom
Starlink hardware setup built directly into the vehicle’s body.
Diagrams included in the update show the Starlink terminal integrated alongside Tesla’s custom self-driving computer, interior microphones, emergency stop hardware, and backup 5G LTE antennas. The setup ensures the vehicle maintains high-speed, low-latency connectivity even when traveling through regions with weak cellular coverage.
Elon Musk stated over the weekend that “all cars will have Starlink in the future,” claiming satellite connectivity is the only viable method to deliver high-bandwidth data to billions of vehicles. His comments built on a Cloudflare forecast predicting that internet traffic generated by autonomous AI agents will soon far surpass human web browsing, a surge he argues ground-based cellular networks and fiber optics will be unable to handle alone.
By pairing SpaceX satellite technology with its autonomous vehicles, Tesla aims to maintain real-time fleet communication, remote supervision, and uninterrupted data streams for passengers anywhere the Cybercab operates. At this point, it just seems natural that a SpaceX and Tesla merger might happen, right?
