Tesla’s Cybercab Production Just Spiked. Over 150 Are Now Sitting at Gigafactory Texas.
Dozens of newly built Tesla Cybercabs are rolling off the production line at Gigafactory Texas, signalling a sharp increase in manufacturing activity for the autonomous vehicle.
Longtime factory observer Joe Tegtmeyer captured footage of a fresh Cybercab leaving the factory floor on Wednesday, completing its first 2.4-kilometre test route over to the local Superchargers. This path serves as the standard routing for all newly minted Cybercabs before they undergo final processing and logistical shipping.
The drone pilot and investor noted a significant surge in volume across the facility. More than 150 Cybercabs were seen actively driving or parked in various sectors of the Austin campus. The robotaxis were spotted undergoing drop-off testing near the main building, running trials on the test track, and filling up three large groups in the outbound lot.
Seeing videos of the Cybercab drive itself with FSD to outbound lots is so satisfying:
Vehicles are also starting to fill the overflow lot south of the End of Line facility for the first time, suggesting a steady and quickening production pace over the last 48 hours.
The current fleet appears to feature a mix of configurations. While some lack a steering wheel entirely, others are equipped with temporary steering wheels, which Tesla utilizes to collect critical real-world driving data during this early stage of deployment.
While onlookers note that regulatory approvals and official fleet deployment are still pending, the rising volume of visible vehicles indicates that manufacturing lines are steadily moving.
