Cybertruck Is Getting Actually Smart Summon. Tesla Makes It Official

Tesla has officially confirmed that Actually Smart Summon is making its way to the Cybertruck, bringing the highly anticipated driverless parking lot feature to the electric pickup. The company announced the rollout on social media, noting that the capability is arriving shortly for owners.

The feature, colloquially known by its acronym ASS, allows users to use the Tesla mobile app to have their vehicle navigate a parking lot autonomously to reach their location or go to a designated target.

When Tesla first launched the Cybertruck in late 2023, it lacked many of the driver assistance features standard on the rest of the company’s vehicle lineup. The electric pickup did not receive Full Self-Driving capabilities until late 2024, as the company had to adapt its vision-based system to the truck’s unique body shape and camera placements.

Bringing advanced features like Summon to the truck required extra development time. Tesla engineers had to train the neural networks to handle the Cybertruck’s unique steer-by-wire system, which operates differently at low speeds compared to traditional mechanical steering. Additionally, the massive size and weight of the vehicle meant the AI models needed to be validated for different braking dynamics and tighter obstacle clearance limits.

The announcement follows the wide release of Tesla’s latest software build, FSD version 14.3.3. This version introduces substantial performance improvements to the underlying Actually Smart Summon technology that Cybertruck owners will now get to experience.

In version 14.3.3, Tesla increased the top speed of Summon by roughly 33 per cent, allowing vehicles to cruise through parking lots at speeds of up to 13 kilometres per hour. Early tester feedback indicates that this speed boost makes the driverless maneuvers look significantly more natural and human-like. The update also refines how vehicles reverse out of tight parking spots, minimizing unnecessary backing distances and choosing more efficient steering angles.

Beyond the parking lot improvements, the version 14.3.3 update includes a more relaxed driver monitoring system, smoother acceleration from a complete stop, and a new “Hey Grok” voice wake word to handle navigation requests inside the cabin.

Tesla did not provide a specific software version number or an exact calendar date for the Cybertruck rollout, but owners with the Full Self-Driving package can expect to see the feature appear in their Tesla mobile app as the over-the-air update hits the fleet.
