Tesla Drops the FSD Name in China, Here’s What It’s Called Now

Tesla has updated the naming of its advanced driver-assistance software in China, marking another shift for the feature as the company prepares to roll out its supervised autonomous driving system in the country.

On the Tesla China website, the top-tier package, which is priced at 64,000 yuan (about $9,419 USD), is now officially called “Tesla Assisted Driving.”

The software description states that the package includes all features from the basic and enhanced tiers, with the complete “Tesla Assisted Driving” functionality expected to be available later. Tesla notes that, in the future, these vehicles will be capable of handling most driving tasks with only minimal driver intervention.

Assisted Driving Packages

Tesla Assisted Driving — ¥64,000 Includes all functionality of the “Basic Assisted Driving” and “Enhanced Assisted Driving” packages. Tesla Assisted Driving features to be released later. In the future, your vehicle will be able to complete the vast majority of driving tasks with minimal driver intervention.

Enhanced Assisted Driving — ¥32,000 Includes all functionality of the “Basic Assisted Driving” package, plus Navigate on Autopilot, Auto Lane Change, and Autopark. Basic Summon and Smart Summon features are now available.

Basic Assisted Driving — Included Includes Traffic-Aware Cruise Control and Autosteer.

This latest adjustment comes just days after Tesla officially announced on X that its FSD (Full Self-Driving) Supervised system is now available in several markets, including China (is it really a wide rollout though?).

Tesla has navigated a complex path to bring these advanced features to the Chinese market, adapting to local data security regulations and intense competition from domestic rivals like Xiaomi and Huawei. The company has previously adjusted these labels to align with regulatory requirements and changing software capabilities.

While the branding has changed, the price for the most comprehensive package remains set at 64,000 yuan.
