Hankook Ventus evo Sweeps European Summer Tire Tests with Top Honours
Hankook secured multiple victories in independent European tire evaluations this spring, with its summer lineup earning top marks for safety and handling.
In the Auto Bild summer tire test, the Ventus evo claimed first place out of 20 finalists. The tire recorded the shortest braking distance on dry pavement and the highest average speeds during wet handling trials. Testing officials noted the tire provides a strong balance of dynamic driving and value. The Ventus evo is made for high performance EVs.
The same model also won the Auto Bild allrad test specifically designed for SUVs. It outperformed eight competitors by showing the highest traction levels on difficult surfaces like gravel and wet grass, while maintaining low noise levels on the road.
Additionally, the Ventus Prime 4 received a “Very Good” rating from the AvD (Automobilclub von Deutschland). Testers highlighted the tire’s wet weather safety, noting its resistance to aquaplaning and precise steering feedback.
Beyond performance, the tests recognized the efficiency of these models. The Ventus Prime 4 earned high marks for its low weight and wear resistance, while the Ventus evo was cited for having the best price to mileage ratio among the finalists.
Last winter, Tesla started adding Hankook iON evo tires to its newest Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, replacing Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires. These purpose built EV tires are made for better efficiency and lower rolling resistance which makes for a quieter cabin.
