Tesla Roadster Reveal Is Near: New Trademarks Surface

Tesla may finally be inching closer to pulling the wraps off its long-delayed next-generation Roadster. The company has filed two new trademark applications tied to the upcoming supercar, hinting that an official public reveal could be on the horizon. Longtime Tesla watcher Sawyer Merritt (@SawyerMerritt) first spotted the filings, sharing them on X.

One of the applications covers a newly stylized “Roadster” wordmark, while the second appears to reference a design element that lines up with Tesla’s next-gen Roadster itself. The included images show a sleek, minimalist logo treatment paired with flowing lines that strongly resemble the car’s low-slung profile. While trademark filings don’t guarantee an imminent launch, they’re often one of the last steps companies take before formally unveiling a product to the public.

This development comes after years of bold promises and shifting timelines for the Roadster. Elon Musk has repeatedly described the car as Tesla’s ultimate halo vehicle, previously claiming it would do 0–60 mph in under one second and, more recently (and perhaps confusingly), teasing that it could even “fly.” In a late-2025 interview, Musk went so far as to say the new Roadster is crazier than if you took “all the James Bond cars and combined them.” Naturally, expectations are sky-high.

Tesla had originally planned to unveil the new Roadster in late 2025, but that timeline slipped, and the reveal now appears to be on track for the coming months. Adding to the intrigue, Tesla last fall posted job listings specifically tied to Roadster manufacturing, suggesting the project may be transitioning from concept to production readiness.

Taken together, these trademark filings feel like another puzzle piece snapping into place. Between hiring activity, repeated executive comments, and now official intellectual property moves, the long-awaited Roadster debut may finally be approaching. If Tesla follows its usual playbook, the next time we hear about the Roadster could be on a stage — not just in filings.
