Some Canadian Tesla buyers are waking up to an unwelcome surprise: delayed delivery windows for the refreshed Model Y Performance.

According to multiple reports on Reddit, some Model Y Performance orders in Canada are being pushed back by as much as two to three months. Buyers who originally had delivery windows in February or March are now seeing estimates slip into late April, May, or even June. The delays appear to be hitting certain regions and configurations harder than others.

One Toronto-area buyer who ordered a Quicksilver Model Y Performance with a white interior on December 21 said their delivery window was pushed from Feb. 15–March 29 to April 30–June 11. Another buyer in Montreal with an Ultra Red on white interior configuration reported the exact same shift. Similar stories are popping up across the Greater Toronto Area, with multiple mid-December orders now showing late spring and early summer delivery estimates.

Not everyone is affected, however. A buyer in Alberta who ordered on the day Model Y Performance orders opened in Canada says their February delivery window hasn’t changed. Others in Halifax and Vancouver are seeing smaller adjustments, suggesting the delays may be tied to regional logistics, production timing, or specific configurations rather than a nationwide freeze.

Tesla opened orders for the refreshed Model Y Performance in Canada late last November, with pricing starting at $74,990 CAD and initial deliveries expected in Q1 2026. The updated Performance trim brings meaningful upgrades, including a 0–100 km/h time of 3.5 seconds, a 250 km/h top speed, adaptive damping, upgraded brakes, and redesigned front and rear fascias. Inside, buyers get ventilated and heated sport seats, improved soundproofing, ambient lighting, and Tesla’s upgraded 16-inch QHD center display.

For now, Tesla hasn’t publicly commented on the delays. It’s worth noting that Model Ys sold in Canada are currently imported from Gigafactory Berlin, and shipping schedules, batching by configuration, or port congestion could all play a role. The situation also unfolds as Canada resets EV trade policy with China, potentially reshaping Tesla’s future import strategy.

If you’ve ordered a Model Y Performance in Canada, especially in Ontario, it may be worth keeping a close eye on your Tesla account — and hoping that these revised timelines prove temporary.
