Tesla has expanded its latest paint option to new markets, announcing that Marine Blue is now available for the Model Y Performance in Australia and New Zealand. The update was shared by the company’s local account on X, which wrote: “Marine Blue [is] now available for Model Y Performance in Australia & New Zealand.”

Marine Blue is Tesla’s newest color to come out of the automaker’s advanced paint shop at Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg. The deep, metallic finish was first launched in Europe last month, priced at €1,300 (around $1,500 USD) in most countries and offered on both the Model Y Premium (formerly Long Range) and Model Y Performance trims.

In Australia and New Zealand, however, Tesla is treating the option differently. Marine Blue is currently exclusive to the refreshed Model Y Performance in these regions, and unlike Europe, the paint comes included in the price of the vehicle at no extra cost.

Tesla introduced the refreshed Model Y Performance in Australia and New Zealand in early September. The new version brings multiple performance-focused upgrades, including redesigned front and rear fascias, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, and staggered wheels and tires engineered for quicker steering response and enhanced cornering grip. Tesla also added adaptive damping for tighter handling, along with upgraded high-performance brakes for improved stopping power.

The latest Model Y Performance accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, a slight improvement over the outgoing model, and delivers an estimated 580 km of WLTP-rated range. For the Australian market, Tesla is importing these refreshed Performance units directly from Giga Berlin — the same facility that produces the new Marine Blue paint and the plant expected to supply Model Y Performance units to Canada starting in early 2026.

What remains unclear is when Marine Blue will expand to additional regions such as Canada or the U.S. Given that Giga Berlin is the only factory producing the color, availability will likely depend on production capacity and regional rollout plans.
