Tesla Rolls Out Monthly FSD Subscriptions in Australia and New Zealand

Tesla has officially launched monthly subscriptions for its Full Self-Driving (Supervised) feature in Australia and New Zealand, expanding the company’s driver-assistance offering to more customers in the region.
As announced by Tesla Australia & New Zealand (@TeslaAUNZ) on X, owners can now subscribe to FSD (Supervised) directly through the Tesla app. The subscription costs $149 AUD per month in Australia and $159 NZD in New Zealand for vehicles equipped with Basic Autopilot. Those with Enhanced Autopilot can upgrade for $75 AUD or $80 NZD monthly.
“You can do it from the Tesla App,” the company said, adding that customers simply need to go to Upgrades > Software Upgrades > Subscribe in the Tesla app.
The rollout of monthly subscriptions follows Tesla’s recent push to boost FSD adoption down under. Earlier this week, the company began offering up to nearly $5,000 AUD off Model 3 and Model Y inventory vehicles equipped with FSD (Supervised), signaling a clear effort to get more customers behind the wheel of its most advanced driver-assistance system yet.
FSD (Supervised) first began its public rollout in Australia and New Zealand in mid-September after a soft media launch in August that impressed local reviewers with how well the system handled city streets, roundabouts, and even unmarked rural roads. The feature is available on all Model 3 and Model Y vehicles equipped with Tesla’s latest Hardware 4 (HW4 or AI4) computer through an over-the-air update.
For those who prefer to own the software outright, FSD (Supervised) is also available as a one-time purchase for $10,100 AUD ($11,400 NZD). Tesla recently started rolling out FSD (Supervised) version 14, a big update that brings major improvements and new features like Arrival Options.
In less than two weeks after launch, Tesla owners in Australia and New Zealand collectively logged over 1 million kilometres using FSD (Supervised), according to company data. The addition of flexible monthly subscriptions could help drive that figure even higher by giving more drivers a lower-commitment way to experience Tesla’s cutting-edge autonomous driving technology.
