Elon Musk Interview: X Takeover Event [VIDEO]

Tesla CEO Elon Musk sat down for a rare (virtual) interview over the weekend at the X Takeover 2025 event for Tesla/SpaceX enthusiasts held in San Mateo, California, offering wide-ranging insights into Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, AI, and more.

The interview, part of the “The Future, Engineered” series hosted by the Tesla Owners Silicon Valley club, featured Musk speaking candidly about Tesla’s Optimus robot, Semi production, and even Neuralink’s potential medical applications.

Among the biggest takeaways was Musk noting that Optimus V3 — the latest iteration of Tesla’s humanoid robot — could be ready for volume production. “It is a significant redesign from V2,” he said. “In fact, almost nothing stays the same.” Musk speculated that if Tesla eventually produces a billion Optimus units annually, it could generate upwards of $30 trillion in revenue at a per-unit price of $30,000.

On the Tesla Semi, Musk revealed that beta builds are now being tested, showing improvements over earlier alpha versions. These vehicles are currently undergoing durability testing, and production equipment is already being installed in Tesla’s new facility.

There was also an exciting update on the long-awaited new Roadster. Tesla VP of Vehicle Engineering Lars Moravy confirmed the vehicle is still in active development. “We are gearing up for a super cool demo,” he said, adding that Musk was “a little excited” after seeing the latest internal tech previews.

Musk also suggested that Neuralink’s brain-computer interface may someday be able to treat chronic conditions like back pain, underscoring the medical potential of the technology.

The interview offered a rare and comprehensive update across Musk’s sprawling empire — and served as a reminder that despite regulatory and logistical hurdles, Tesla’s product roadmap remains ambitious and far-reaching.
