Tesla Offers Free Paint Upgrades for Model 3 Performance in the U.S.

Tesla is now offering all paint color options for free on new Model 3 Performance orders in the U.S. — a move that brings every configuration of the high-performance EV under the threshold to qualify for the full $7,500 federal EV tax credit. This incentive is part of a push to spur deliveries before the EV tax credit expires on September 30, 2025, under new legislation passed earlier this month.

The promotion means even premium paint options and the white interior — typically cost add-ons—will no longer disqualify buyers from the federal incentive. Tesla is aggressively leaning into promotions across its lineup to boost sales while the EV credit is still available.

For the Model 3 specifically, buyers can now also take advantage of 18 months of free Supercharging (on cash purchases), a free upgrade on eligible new inventory, and 0% APR financing for 60 months when also purchasing Full Self-Driving (Supervised), among other promotions.

The Model 3 Performance stands apart from the base model with significantly more power and track-ready capabilities. The latest iteration features Tesla’s most powerful Performance drive unit to date, delivering over 500 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time as low as 2.9 seconds.

A new adaptive damping system and updated Track Mode allow for fine-tuned handling, improved cornering, and on-the-fly customizations. Meanwhile, redesigned front and rear fascias, a carbon fiber spoiler, and a new rear diffuser enhance aerodynamics and high-speed stability.

Inside, the Performance variant includes ventilated sport seats, carbon fiber trim, and upgraded materials throughout the cabin, underscoring its premium performance focus.

With the clock ticking on the $7,500 tax credit, Tesla’s free paint promo may be the perfect incentive for those considering upgrading to the Model 3 Performance. Click here to order your Model 3 Performance today.
