Tesla drivers using iPhones can now check their car’s charging status without unlocking their device.
A new app update brings Live Activities support to iOS, allowing key charging info to appear directly on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.
The feature works on iPhones running iOS 17.2 or later and activates as soon as Supercharging begins. It shows details like battery level, charging speed, and estimated time remaining — all updating in real time while the session is active.
This marks the first time Tesla has used Apple’s Live Activities tool, which was originally introduced with iOS 16.1 to let apps display live updates for things like food delivery or sports scores.
Now, Tesla owners with newer iPhones — including the iPhone 14 Pro and up — can benefit from the same quick-glance convenience during charging.
The update was released on May 27 and is part of Tesla’s ongoing effort to improve app functionality for Apple users. This update comes ahead of Tesla’s expected June Robotaxi launch. Seeing Live Activities on your iPhone lock screen is similar to what other ridesharing apps like Uber already support.
