Ford has completed the shipment of 139,935 complimentary Fast Charging Adapters to its U.S. electric vehicle customers, fulfilling its commitment to unlock broader access to Tesla’s Supercharger network.

The initiative, launched in 2024, aimed to simplify charging for Ford EV owners. Each adapter shipped came with a message: “Our Gift, Just For You,” and a personal note from Ford CEO Jim Farley thanking customers for their support.

“With these adapters, we’ve made it easier than ever for our customers to charge on the go,” said Farley. “This wasn’t just about sending out adapters—it was about delivering on our promise to create a seamless EV charging experience.”

The move comes after Ford became the first automaker to gain access to Tesla’s Supercharger network in the U.S. Ford EV owners can now tap into over 20,000 Tesla Superchargers, up from the initial 15,300 when access began in 2024.

The impact has been immediate. By February 2025, Tesla Superchargers accounted for nearly 20% of all Ford EV charging sessions away from home. Owners like Mark and June Eakin, who drive an F-150 Lightning, said the adapters made road trips much simpler: “Half of our charging this year was at Tesla Superchargers. It made planning routes so much easier.”

Ford’s investment doesn’t stop there. The BlueOval Charge Network — North America’s largest integrated public charging network — has grown to 44,000 DC fast chargers, a 53% increase since early 2024. Reliability has also improved, with February 2025 marking an all-time high for first-time charging success rates.

In addition to the complimentary adapters, Ford has launched a co-developed Fast Charging Adapter with Lectron, now available for purchase. The adapter is designed for Ford-specific needs, ensuring reliable and efficient charging.

“We’re not done yet,” said Farley. “This is just one step in making EV ownership simpler and more convenient. We’re excited for what’s next.”
