Ford Starts Giving Free Adapter for Tesla Superchargers
Ford’s CEO, Jim Farley, announced today on X that owners of the Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning in the United States and Canada will soon be able to reserve a complimentary Fast Charging Adapter.
This move comes as part of Ford’s initiative to grant its electric vehicle (EV) customers access to Tesla Superchargers, enhancing the charging convenience for Ford EV owners. Ford was the first major automaker to adopt Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS), now the de facto standard for charging EVs.
Farley expressed the company’s gratitude to its customers, stating, “This is our way of saying thank you! We want to make charging more convenient for our Ford EV owners.” The announcement follows Ford’s commitment to expanding its EV charging solutions, including the integration with Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network.
When we announced @Ford EVs would get access to @Tesla Superchargers, I said we'd send customers a Fast Charging Adapter. I'm pleased to confirm that eligible #MustangMachE & #F150Lightning owners in the U.S. + Canada can reserve a complimentary adapter starting soon.

The initiative is seen as a significant step towards improving the EV charging infrastructure for Ford customers, making it easier for them to charge their vehicles and thereby encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles. Ford also plans to continue expanding its BlueOval Charge Network, aiming to provide more charging options and convenience for its EV owners.
Further details on how to reserve the complimentary adapter and the official rollout date will be shared by Ford soon, as the company works to streamline the charging experience for its electric vehicle customers across North America.
