Tesla’s Model 3 has achieved top ratings in China’s Electric Vehicle Fire Safety Index and Automotive Fire Safety Certification, highlighting its strong safety performance.
According to Tesla’s data, between 2012 and 2022, there was approximately one Tesla vehicle fire for every 130 million miles traveled.
In contrast, data from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the U.S. Department of Transportation indicates that, on average, there is a vehicle fire for every 19 million miles traveled in the United States.
This suggests that Tesla vehicles are about seven times less likely to experience a fire compared to the national average.
