Tesla Breaks Ground on Massive 168 Stall Supercharger
Tesla is expanding its presence along the busy Interstate 5 corridor with a new 168-stall Supercharger station in Lost Hills, California.
Max de Zegher, Tesla’s Director of Charging for North America, officially announced that the project, called “Oasis,” aims to meet future demand for electric vehicle (EV) charging. The new site builds on Tesla’s history in the region, with the first Harris Ranch Supercharger opening in 2012 and expanding to 98 stalls today.
This will be the world’s largest Supercharger with 168 total stalls. Notice the render shows a picture of a Cybertruck pulling a themed trailer (CyberTrailer?).
The Lost Hills station will feature 11 MW of solar panels and canopies across 30 acres, 10 Tesla Megapacks providing 39 MWh of battery storage, and only 1.5 MW of grid service—paving the way for future expansion. Tesla emphasized that the site represents the company’s push for sustainable, reliable travel infrastructure, leveraging vertical integration to address grid limitations.
Despite typical grid connections, Tesla is using its energy storage systems to bypass local substation delays, ensuring the site can open by mid-2025 to meet growing demand. “When you stop by, you’ll be powered up by locally generated sunshine,” de Zegher said, praising the Tesla teams for developing the project quickly and cost-effectively.
News of this 160+ stall Supercharger was first uncovered back in February by sleuth @MarcoRPi1. A larger Supercharger with 200 stalls is also coming soon to Florida, which will be bigger than this one.
