Here are First Rides in a Tesla CyberCab Robotaxi [VIDEOS]

Tesla cybercab robotaxi.

Tesla’s We, Robot event tonight unveiled a new CyberCab robotaxi and also a robovan (Musk pronounced it “ro-bo-vin”).

After the presentation giving bare details on the CyberCab and robovan, attendees got to experience a fully autonomous robotaxi for the first time.

CyberCabs pulled up, doors opened and passengers were told to sit in, buckle their seat belts (and wait for doors to close) and select their Warner Bros. destination on the touchscreen, then tap “start ride”.

Check out the first CyberCab rides below from The Kilowatts, @WholeMarsBlog and @SawyerMerritt:

The CyberCab has front and rear bumper cameras, sun visors inside, two cupholders and a hatchback trunk. All passengers said they were very impressed and blown away with the demo. Tesla said production would start before 2027, according to Elon Musk. The price would be under $30,000 USD. Let’s wait and see how long it actually takes to produce this thing at scale. Tesla was short on details tonight, likely sandbagging and possibly not sharing too many details for competitors.
