Tesla FSD 12.5.6 Brings Smoother Visuals, Fixes 4-Year Old Bug
Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) software has received a visual update in version 12.5.6, making the driving visualizations smoother than ever.
According to Tesla owner @AIDRIVR on X, the update eliminates jitters and keeps surrounding cars moving smoothly at a steady 60 frames per second.
Ashok Elluswamy, Tesla’s Director of Autopilot Software, chimed in, explaining, “We fixed a four-year-old bug in the rendering,” in response to @WholeMarsBlog’s excitement over the improvement.
Former Tesla AI head Andrej Karpathy also reacted to the news, replying with a simple “omg,” to which Ashok responded, “yeah.”
The bug fix looks to be for AI4 (HW4) vehicles, and it is unclear if and when it will also arrive for HW3 cars.
