Back in September 2023, Tesla added updates for the Model Y produced at Giga Shanghai which included ambient lighting and some other upgrades.
Now, Tesla has offered an ambient lighting retrofit for the Model Y, but only in China, priced at 1299 CNY, or about $180 USD, which is a reasonable price, noted @Tslachan. Ambient lighting lets you customize a color strip along the dash and doors.

So far, it remains unclear if this ambient lighting retrofit will make its way to the U.S.
Tesla China also posted on Weibo that “robotaxi is coming soon”, plus that Optimus will be released in 2026.
