World’s First Tesla Cybertruck Police Vehicle Revealed by UP.FIT
Unplugged Performance, through its UP.FIT division, has introduced the first-ever Tesla Cybertruck designed for police use. This groundbreaking vehicle, revealed in a recent video, has already attracted interest from law enforcement agencies across the country. The company first teased this was coming back in December.
UP.FIT, the global leader in upfitting Teslas for fleet use, has transformed the Cybertruck’s platform for specialized use by police, fire departments, military, and tactical response agencies. This innovative vehicle represents a significant advancement in first-responder solutions, setting a new standard for safety, efficiency, and innovation.
“The UP.FIT Cybertruck Next-Gen Patrol vehicle represents a significant engineering leap into the future, and we’re excited to offer law enforcement agencies the future of policing,” said Ben Schaffer, CEO of Unplugged Performance in a statement on Friday.
“We’ve been thrilled with the direct feedback from police departments that have participated in our Cybertruck development, and we look forward to deploying these complete UP.FIT vehicles to law enforcement agencies across the nation this year,” he added.
The UP.FIT Cybertruck combines Tesla’s electric vehicle technology with Unplugged Performance’s expertise in vehicle modification to provide a comprehensive solution for police departments. The vehicle includes essential features such as warning lights, sirens, a PA system, and upgraded radio and computer systems. It can be customized for various missions with prisoner partitions, weapon storage, K9 enclosures, specialized wheels, and off-road upgrades, as well as Starlink internet connectivity.
Unplugged Performance’s UP.FIT division, known for upfitting Tesla vehicles, also offers enhanced electrification, infrastructure planning, consulting, and fleet management services. They provide technical training and certification for departments to enhance their knowledge and maintenance expertise, including behind-the-wheel experiences for field-training officers and technical maintenance staff.
UP.FIT is currently taking orders on its website for the Cybertruck Next-Gen Patrol vehicle, with deliveries expected as early as late 2024.
