Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced the release of its Full Self-Driving (FSD) software version 12.4.1 to employees today.
He said if the internal testing goes well, the company plans to extend the update to a limited number of external customers this weekend.
This latest build includes a significant number of changes, leading some to suggest it could be labeled as version 13, said Musk. However, Tesla has decided to maintain the version 12 designation.
Additionally, Tesla is testing two other versions, 12.5 and 12.6, which could potentially be referred to as versions 14 and 15, said Musk. The company is approaching a milestone where, once existing bugs are addressed, achieving a year of driving with only one intervention could become a reality. Now that’s a big promise.
“We are starting to get to the point where, once known bugs are fixed, it will take over a year of driving to get even one intervention,” touted Musk.
