Watch: Tesla’s Cybertruck Pedal Fix Takes 35 Seconds [VIDEO]
Tesla recently launched a proactive recall to fix an issue with Cybertruck pedals to secure them, where the pedal plate could get stuck if you floor the accelerator.
The fix is also being issued to service centers as well. “On affected Cybertruck vehicles, when a high amount of force is applied to the accelerator pedal pad, the pad may dislodge and become trapped in the interior trim above the pedal,” says Tesla’s bulletin.
The correction? Tesla says it will “rework or replace the accelerator pedal assembly such that the assembly meets specifications and ensures sufficient retention force between the pad and accelerator pedal to prevent the pad from dislodging.”
At the recent Tesla Cybertruck Takeover event at Silicon Valley in California, Tesla was on hand to fix Cybertruck pedals, which takes about 35 seconds. Check out the video shared by Aaron Cash, the creator of ABetterTheater.com. We see a 3D-printed device placed over the pedal, then a rivet is drilled in that secures the pedal cover.
Yes, Tesla did vacuum up the shavings.

If you are going to put out defective parts, it helps to have to notch engineers around who can come up with simple creative fixes. Tesla Service vehicles could be running around fixing these in your driveway even. Almost as good as OTA updates ha!
