Tesla Said to Be Offering Free Full-Self Driving Transfers, Again

After reports of Tesla offering free Full-Self Driving (FSD) transfers yesterday, then having the news pulled back, as of Sunday, it turns out the transfers are reportedly free after all.

According to Sawyer Merritt, Tesla is reportedly allowing customers in North America to transfer FSD from their existing car to a new vehicle, if they take delivery by the end of March 2024.

That means those existing owners with FSD can transfer it to a new Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X in Canada, the US and Mexico. The new Cybertruck does not qualify.

Yesterday, it was reported that free transfers of unlimited Supercharging are also possible.

This FSD transfer is said to be available to existing orders, while leased cars do not qualify.

Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature transfer was available for free, but only as a special one-time offer during the third quarter of the previous year. The offer was made in response to an inquiry during Tesla’s second-quarter earnings call. “Yes. This is a question we get asked a lot. So, we’re excited to announce that for Q3, we will be allowing the transfer of FSD. This is a one-time amnesty,” stated Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, addressing the possibility of transferring FSD between vehicles.

We haven’t heard any official announcements from Tesla yet, so stay tuned for confirmation.
