The Tampa Downtown Partnership has unveiled the first look at its upcoming shared ride service, DASH, featuring bright yellow Tesla Model Y vehicles. Alongside the vehicle reveal, the organization has also announced the service’s hours and pricing.

Shaun Drinkard, Interim President of the Tampa Downtown Partnership, stated, “We wanted to make sure this new way to get around Downtown is just as distinctive as the other transportation options it’ll be joining. When you think about the streetcar with its classic look, or a colorful e-bike or scooter, or the swords on the side of the Pirate Water Taxi, we know DASH’s bright yellow Teslas will be a great addition.”

DASH (Downtown Area Shared Hubs) is set to launch in mid-October. The service will operate Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. These hours aim to accommodate the diverse population that lives, works, and plays in Downtown Tampa.

The service will cost $2 per person, offering an affordable alternative to other modes of transportation. Professional “driver-ambassadors” will operate the all-electric Tesla Model Y vehicles, taking passengers between more than 20 hub locations throughout Downtown Tampa. The DASH app will allow up to four passengers to share each hub-to-hub trip.

The Tampa Downtown Partnership is still hiring a limited number of driver-ambassadors. These professionals will undergo extensive safety and driving training and will also be trained as expert guides to Downtown’s seven unique neighborhoods. Job applicants can apply at tampasdowntown.com.

For passengers requiring wheelchair-accessible vehicles, the DASH app will offer the option to request an ADA-compliant van.

The official launch date for the DASH service will be announced in the near future.
