The Weekly Supercharger: The End of The Road

I wish things didn’t come to this.

Believe me, I really do, but unfortunately, this marks the end of Supercharger updates from me. Much as I’ve enjoyed doing this over the last 3 years, Twitter has been gracefully purging all of my accounts, essentially eliminating my presence on the platform (Thanks, Elon!). As a result, I’ve decided to suspend all charging updates indefinitely and move on. I’ve issued a fuller statement at the end of the article with my reasons for ending it. With that said, I still wanted to pass along one last update and discharge the remaining stock before calling it quits for a while. So here goes…

Welcome everyone to Week 9 of the Weekly Supercharger! For this week’s edition, we will be covering a number of Superchargers across the states of California, Arizona, New York, New Jersey, Alabama, and Florida.

First off, we have a new station coming soon to Hesperia, California. Back in July, permits were issued for a 16-stall Supercharger at Topaz Marketplace, located 1.5 miles from I-15 on Main St. The chargers will be located in the northwest corner of the parking lot near 14101 Main St.

The next Supercharger is one that I’ve known about for the better part of a year, and kind of regret not having posted it sooner. It is located in Anaheim, California and is set to have 24 charging stalls at Anaheim Plaza, located off I-5 at Euclid Street. The permit for the site was issued in July.

To Arizona now, where two new Superchargers are planned is the Phoenix area. The first the two is located in North Phoenix, where Tesla recently filed site plans for a 16-stall station near the Men’s Warehouse at Shops at Norterra. Formal permits have not yet been submitted, although they are bound to be quite soon.

The second station is planned in the city of Peoria, Arizona. Back in May, permits were submitted for a new Supercharger in the southernmost part of the city, right near Glendale city limits. The location in question is Park West Shopping Center, right off Highway 101 at W Northern Ave. 16 chargers are planned.

Next up is the state of New Jersey, which is set to receive a new Supercharger in the township of Woolwich. Permits were recently issued, and construction is soon to begin on a 12-stall site at the Wawa gas station on Paulsboro-Swedesboro Road.

To New York once again, where yet another Supercharger is in the works. This time, the town of Erwin is set to host its second Supercharger. During a planning board meeting held on October 2nd, Tesla presented plans for a 16-stall station by the Walmart on Silverback Ln, off I-99.

Now, to Alabama, where a new Supercharger will soon begin construction in the city of Alabaster. At the end of August, permits were issued for a 16-stall V4 station at the Lowe’s Home Improvement store off Interstate 65, about 20 miles south of Birmingham.

Finally, for the last state of this week, Florida is getting 3 new Superchargers.

The first location of the trio is located in Fort Pierce. While this city is already set receive the state’s new largest Supercharger, potential for a new Buc-ee’s gas station in the area will bring another set of chargers. Back in July, Buc-ee’s submitted a pre-application for a new location in St. Lucie County, at the Indrio Road exit of Interstate 95. The site plans feature 20 Supercharging stalls.

A second Floridian location is planned in the city of Hollywood. Last week, permits were submitted for a new site at the Wawa on US Highway 441, at the cross street of Griffin Road. Despite being listed with a Davie address, the site is technically located within Hollywood city limits, seen is this is where the permits were filed.

And, for the last location of this week, and probably this series, a new Supercharger is coming soon to Lake Nona, Florida. Back in April, permits were filed for a 16-stall station at the Wawa on Boggy Creek Rd, located right off SR 417 at Boggy Creek Road. Permits for the site were issued this past week, which means construction could begin very soon.

That’s all for this week, and probably for a little while. As I said earlier, I’ve decided to end the updates for some time, as I no longer feel welcome to promote a company that I once loved and dreamed of working for. I’ve included my full statement below.

I hope you all a great weekend, and until next time.
