Tesla Exec Explains New Model 3 Upgrades [VIDEO]

Tesla’s new Model 3 and its new features were detailed by Lars Moravy, Vice President of Vehicle Engineering at Tesla, at the company’s Gigafactory Shanghai in China.

Tesla has introduced several upgrades to its Model 3 electric vehicle, focusing on enhanced cabin isolation, shock-absorbing technology, and engineering contributions from its China team.

Moravy detailed these improvements, highlighting, “Even though cars are passing you by at high speeds, you don’t really hear them,” he said, referring to dual-pane glass being implemented in the rear door and backlight to improve cabin isolation.

The company has also incorporated frequency collective damping technology in the new Model 3, aiming to strike a balance between ride quality and handling. “Not only is it more performance, but it’s also funner to drive and rides better at the same time,” Moravy stated.

In addition to these features, the Tesla engineering team from China has played a significant role in the vehicle’s development. “Super exciting that the Tesla engineering team from China gets to introduce itself to the world with a brand new Model 3 that they developed mostly here in China,” Moravy said.

Moravy, who was part of the engineering team that worked on the original Model 3, expressed his personal enthusiasm for the opportunity to refine the vehicle. “To do it all over again you really can focus on all of those things that you’ve learned over those six years,” he noted.
