Tesla Cybertruck Delivery Event ‘Probably’ in Q3, Says Elon Musk
On Tesla’s Q1 2023 earnings report, the company saw record production and deliveries, with revenues of $23.3 billion, up 24% year-over-year.
In regards to the Tesla Cybertruck, the company shared photos of its production line and also winter testing photos for the first time.
“Equipment installation for Cybertruck production at Gigafactory Texas continued in Q1 and remains on track,” said Tesla.
On the earnings call, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that Cybertruck specs and pricing will be saved for the handover of deliveries in Q3. He called the Cybertruck an “incredible product”, one that’s a “hall of famer”.
Tesla is making alpha builds of Cybertruck and is finishing the installation of its volume production line. Musk then stated a delivery event for Cybertruck would “probably” take place in Q3 of this year.
“As with any product, will take time to get production going,” said Musk, with the Cybertruck to be produced at Gigafactory Texas.
While high volume production of Cybertruck won’t take this year, we will likely see some first deliveries for employees or lucky customers that placed orders years ago. But for now, Cybertruck remains on track which is a good thing.
“Tesla is growing faster than any company in history that makes complex objects,” said Musk on its earnings call.
