Tesla sold more Model Y units in Denmark during March than all of its cars combined in 2022, becoming the country’s best-selling vehicle for any one month and capturing 49% of the Danish electric vehicle (EV) market last month, according to data shared by @FonsDK on Twitter.
The Model Y sold a whopping 3,203 units last month, while Tesla sold a total of 3,003 units across all of its EVs in 2022. Tesla now holds the Danish record for most units of any one model sold in a single month, almost doubling the Ford Kuga’s July 2020 record of 1,688 units.
The Tesla Model Y accounted for approximately 1/5 of all new Danish vehicle sales in March!
Tesla's🇩🇰BEV market share was 56% in March (3675 out of 6554 new BEVs were Tesla's)…

What’s more, the Model Y accounted for roughly 20% of all new vehicles sold in Denmark during March. While the Model Y alone represented 49% of all new EVs sold in Denmark last month, Tesla as a whole made up 56% of the market.
A report from last week indicated that the Model Y topped first-quarter EV sales in four European countries, including Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Spain. Tesla is also seeing a massive surge in Model Y sales in Germany, where the company is locally producing the all-electric crossover at Gigafactory Berlin.
It looks like Tesla is selling cars as quickly as it can make them, with the company’s recent price cuts further driving up consumer interest.
