According to an update today from Natural Resources Canada, the 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 6 sedan is now the most ‘fuel-efficient’ electric vehicle in its class, according to information shared by the automaker and obtained by Tesla North.
Based on the liter per 100 km consumption metric, the IONIQ 6 Long Range with 18-inch wheels is equivalent to a vehicle that consumes 1.5 L of fuel for 100km in the city, 1.9 L on the highway and 1.7 L combined, for a range of 580 km. That makes it the most ‘fuel-efficient’ all-battery EV in Canada.
These new numbers from the IONIQ 6 top the 2023 Lucid Air Pure and Touring with 19-inch wheels, which is at 1.7 L for the city, highway and combined for both vehicle trims for second and third place.
In fourth is the IONIQ 6 Standard Range with city numbers at 1.6 L, highway at 2.0 and combined at 1.7 L.
In fifth is the 2023 Tesla Model 3 RWD with numbers at 1.7 city, 1.9 highway and 1.8 combined, with 438 km of range, followed by the company’s Model Y AWD Long Range in sixth with city numbers at 1.8, highway at 2.0 and 1.9 combined, which are decent numbers for a taller compact crossover.
Hyundai has announced significant price reductions for its 2024 Ioniq 6 electric sedan, with the base model now starting at $38,615, a decrease of $4100 from last year. Other trims in the lineup also see price cuts ranging between $2450 and $3050. According to a Hyundai spokesperson, the price reductions are attributed to “production efficiencies […]
