Ford’s F-150 Lightning Pro electric pickup truck has seen yet another price increase in March 2023, reports Motortrend.

This change follows previous price hikes in August, October, and December 2022, moving the Pro model from its original $41,769 price tag to a significantly higher $61,869 USD. This $20,100 increase has shifted the F-150 Lightning Pro from a decent value to a mid-priced electric truck option.

The Chevrolet Silverado EV, set to launch later in 2023, has yet to experience such pricing changes. The entry-level Silverado EV WT is expected to start at $41,595, giving it a $20,274 advantage over Ford’s F-150 Lightning Pro, provided its price remains unchanged.

A Ford spokesperson confirmed the changes and attributed the price increases to ongoing supply chain constraints, rising material costs, and other market factors.

While customers who placed orders before the price hikes won’t be affected, those looking to purchase the F-150 Lightning Pro now will face a significantly higher cost.

In comparison, the Rivian R1T electric truck, starts at $74,075 for the Adventure trim, making the F-150 Lightning Pro look more affordable, but it’s still pricey.

The GMC Hummer EV, currently priced at $86,645 for its most economical version, is also more expensive than Ford’s electric truck. However, the F-150 Lightning Pro’s continuous price hikes may be causing potential customers to reconsider their options.
