2024 Polestar 2 Pricing from €50,190 in Europe, New Updates Revealed
Polestar has announced an updated design for the 2024 Polestar 2, including an updated range, a high-tech front end, new motors and the addition of rear-wheel-drive on base models, according to a press release shared on Tuesday.
The company says the 2024 Polestar 2 has new motors and batteries, even including a switch to rear-wheel-drive in its base models.
The variants now offer up to 592km (~367.9 miles) of range for the Long Range variant and 635km (~394.6 miles) per the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Testing Procedure (WLTP), upgraded by 105km and 84km, respectively.
Pricing for the Polestar 2 starts at €50,190 ($54,562.50) for customers in Europe. Full 2024 Polestar 2 pricing is below:
The Polestar 2 aims to compete with Tesla’s Model 3, which can start from at €43,990 in Europe, such as in Germany. Even Tesla’s Long Range AWD and Performance AWD pricing is cheaper than all Polestar 2 variants.
“Typically in the car industry, a facelift introduces superficial visual changes that often destroy the original intention of the car’s design theme,” Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath said. “With the new model year Polestar 2, we rather went below the surface and upgraded substantial tech and mechanical components of the electric drivetrain. This is the best Polestar 2 yet, and with the updated front design with the new SmartZone, the best looking one, too.”
The new models also have lower emissions than the last versions due to improved battery cell chemistry.
Polestar also updated the design and features of the Polestar 2 last year, which also improved upon battery cell chemistry and overall emissions of production.
You can order the 2024 Polestar 2 on the company’s website in European markets, with first deliveries expected in Q3 2023. Other markets, including the U.S., are set to follow.
