NIO Says It Has Now Made 300,000 Production Cars
NIO announced today it has manufactured its 300,000th vehicle from its Second Advanced Manufacturing Base at NeoPark in Hefei, Anhui province, China, with the milestone taking place on Monday, December 12, 2022.
The Chinese EV automaker manufactured its first vehicle in May 2018 and for 2022, it started delivering cars based on its second-gen platform known as NT2.0, such as its ET7, ES7 and ET5. NIO says it will launch five models in the first half of 2023 “to meet the customers’ diverse needs.”
The first half of 2022 saw NIO become the first automaker to be listed in the US, Hong Kong, and Singapore. NIO also kicked off service and delivery of the ET7 in Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden in October.
An innovation center in Berlin, Germany was set up, along with an artificial intelligence and autonomous driving R&D center in Singapore. NIO says it will be supporting customers in more than 25 countries and territories by 2025.
As of December 12, NIO has 395 NIO Houses and NIO Spaces, 1,263 Power Swap Stations, 12,785 charging piles, and access to over 998,000 third-party charging piles. “NIO is committed to providing users around the world with experiences beyond expectations,” said the automaker in a press release.
