NIO announced plans to launch in markets beyond China, and now the automaker has set a date for an upcoming launch event in Europe.

NIO plans to hold a European launch event on October 7, set to take place in Berlin, according to an announcement made on Wednesday reported by CnEVPost.

The event is set to be themed “A New Horizon,” and will be live-streamed online at 18:00 Central European Time, the company said.

The event is expected to be like a European version of the automaker’s NIO Day, at which the EV startup usually debuts new releases, features and upcoming business plans.

“The horizon stands for hope and a brighter tomorrow. It is a symbol of exploring new possibilities in our life,” said NIO Founder and CEO William Li. “We have always been dedicated to shaping a joyful lifestyle for our users via our products, services and the user communities. As a global brand, this mission serves a broader community worldwide. Now, we start with Europe.”

It’s not yet clear what the event will entail beyond announcing an entry into the region. Most expect the company will officially debut the ET7 sedan as Europe’s first available NIO EV.

Rumors also suggest that NIO could launch in the U.S. by 2025, though the validity of the reports has not yet been verified.
