Tesla Charging $100 ‘Reschedule Fee’ for Last Minute Service Appointment Changes

Tesla appears to be now charging a ‘Reschedule Fee’ for customers that need to make service appointment changes within 24 hours.
According to a screenshot shared by Zack (@BLKMDL3), the message in the Tesla app reads, “your appointment is within 24 hours. If you reschedule, you will be charged a $100 fee.” Options are to reschedule your service appointment or keep it.
“Totally disagree with this new policy from Tesla, it is not like they have a lack of work- crazy demand for service visits so if I rescheduled it’s not like they won’t have anything to do. Not throwing away $100 for a in-warranty trim piece,” said Zack.
It seems that there are enough people cancelling or changing appointments within 24 hours of service dates and times, for Tesla to implement such a policy. Others chimed in on Zack’s thread about their negative Tesla customer service experiences and also said the fee was unjust, while other said it makes sense to penalize those that constantly change appointments at the last minute.
What do you think? Should Tesla charge a ‘Reschedule Fee’, or is that too much?

Well maybe you shouldn’t reschedule last minute… at my work I also charge people that cancel on me last minute. Time = money. Just show up!
It’s just a money grab. It’s not like their service people will just be sitting around because you didn’t show up.
You must not have a job that demands your time on their schedule. I am also guessing you are not considering most people have to drive more than 1 to 2 hours to their states Tesla service center.
There’s way more to it. They don’t even give you a good idea of what will happen during the service or how much it will cost.
I completely agree with this policy, but it has to be a two-way street. If I have an appointment at 10. and they take my car to the service at 11:30. because they are too busy, I should also be compensated.
