Rivian’s electric delivery vans for Amazon are rolling out across the U.S., according to a press release shared on Thursday.
By the end of the year, the companies are looking to deploy the electric delivery vans in over 100 cities across the U.S., with a goal of reaching 100,000 cities in the country by 2030.
The cities set to gain the vans first include Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Kansas City, Nashville, Phoenix, San Diego, Seattle and St. Louis, among others still.

In a statement, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said, “Fighting the effects of climate change requires constant innovation and action, and Amazon is partnering with companies who share our passion for inventing new ways to minimize our impact on the environment.” Jassy continued, “Rivian has been an excellent partner in that mission, and we’re excited to see our first custom electric delivery vehicles on the road.”
The vehicles were created as a result of The Climate Pledge, Amazon’s initiative to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2040.
The Rivian electric delivery vans have been testing out operations in the San Francisco Bay Area since early last year, with some of them even being spotted as far back as late 2020.
Amazon initially announced the electric delivery vans from Rivian in 2020.
