Volkswagen has unveiled a pair of “Obi-Wan Kenobi” inspired ID Buzz vehicles during a Star Wars event in Anaheim, California, as detailed over the weekend in a press release.
The vehicles feature two different paint jobs, one of which is the “Dark Side Edition” in black and red, and the other of which is the “Light Side Edition” in silver and blue.
The event took place between May 26 and May 29 amidst the May 27 Disney+ release of the the new Star Wars series, ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’.
This represents the first crossover of its kind, created by Lucasfilm and Volkswagen in close collaboration.

Lucasfilm Vice President and Executive Creative Director Doug Chaing said, “The opportunity to explore how ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ and the Volkswagen brand could come together on a vehicle was pure fun. The themes of good and evil, light and dark aren’t necessarily concepts we apply to cars. The ID. Buzz collaboration offered a unique opportunity to have the cars become graphic reflections of two iconic characters.”
Both vehicles feature extra decals of the Empire and Jedi across the body and window exteriors, as well as custom 21-inch rims designed specifically for each edition.
The ID. Buzz passenger version represented the ‘Light Side Edition’ and Obi-Wan Kenobi’s tunic colors and the Rebel Alliance, while the Buzz Cargo represented the ‘Dark Side Edition’, inspired by Darth Vader’s colors and the Empire.
Volkswagen shared ID Buzz pre-orders on May 20 in Europe, with pricing starting at 64,581 euros ($69,305 USD).
