Goodyear’s airless tires were seen on a Tesla Model 3 this week, as shared on Mashable on Wednesday.
The video shows close-ups of the vehicle’s handling with the airless tires, as it drives around a track. The Model 3 handles well, even hugging curves and maneuvering around obstacles with the airless tires.
The video also notes that airless tires are less likely to puncture, resulting in fewer ending up in junkyards, and supporting continued goals of increased sustainability.
The airless tires are also considered a game-changer for autonomous vehicles, since they’re largely maintenance-free.
The video also notes that the airless tires are already internet-famous, having been featured on a Tesla Model 3 last December.
