Tesla Now Supports 110,000 Direct Jobs and 500,000 Indirect Jobs
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has shared the latest stats on how many direct and indirect jobs the electric automaker supports.
Musk said on Tuesday morning, “Tesla is now over [110,000] direct jobs and roughly [500,000] indirect, factoring in suppliers.”

As of December 31, 2021, Tesla had 99,290 employees that were full-time and also including its subsidiaries’ employees worldwide, as per the company’s latest 10-K filing with the SEC.
Based on the latest stat from Musk today, Tesla has increased its employee count by over 10,000 in less than five months, likely assisted by its new factories in Austin, Texas, and Berlin, Germany.
Tesla today confirmed it would be building another Gigafactory in Shanghai, near its original location, that would produce Model 3 and Model Y with an annual capacity of 450,000 cars.
