Tesla Model S Refresh Delivers with Motorized Left-Right Tilt Display [VIDEO]
Tesla appears to have started delivering its Model S refresh with a built-in “left-right tilt” screen, as it had originally stated when it first advertised the 17-inch cinematic display.
A video shared by @TeslaFrunk (an aftermarket power frunk installer) shows the left-right tilt screen in action, in a Model S refresh. The action of the display is controlled by the vehicle display’s software, suggesting this is not a third-party modification, but indeed the real deal.

Last fall, we saw images of a Model S refresh with a tilted display, but this appears to be the first time a delivery has occurred with the factory feature included.
According to Munro Live back in February, their teardown of the Model S refresh display revealed left-right tilt adjustability, but it wasn’t set up yet as motors were missing (check out the 4:40 mark):
For Model S and Model X refresh cars without the motor hardware for the tilt screen, it remains to be seen if Tesla will offer a retrofit.
Back in April, Ryan McCaffrey from the Ride the Lightning podcast, said he received “rock-solid confirmation” from a Tesla source that the newest Model S and Model X cars would get the much-anticipated tilt screen feature, essentially corroborating what we’re seeing in the demo video shown above.
Just got rock-solid confirmation from a Tesla source that the latest Model S and Model X cars built have the long-awaited center-screen tilting functionality. Or at least, the hardware to do so. Presumably an upcoming software update will enable it in the UI.
