First Drives: GMC Hummer EV Reviews Hit the Web, Here’s a Roundup [VIDEOS]

General Motors (GM) announced that the GMC Hummer EV is increasing production output after reservations surpassed 65,000 a couple of weeks ago, and now the electric truck is making its first rounds out in the world.

A number of publications are putting out their very first reviews of the new GMC Hummer EV, and the 9,000-pound truck is certainly making headlines in its first few days out in the wild. GMC flew journalists down to Phoenix to test drive the new Hummer.

The electric truck is considered a close competitor with the Rivian R1T and the Ford F-150 Lightning EV, as well as the eventual Tesla Cybertruck.

Here’s a roundup of a few early reviews of the massive GMC Hummer EV, along with a few quotes about the electric truck.

“If you’re looking for just another luxury vehicle, even an electric one, you may wanna skip the Hummer. But if you’re looking for the biggest, the baddest, the fastest, the most off-road capable, the most outrageous pickup truck you can find, you can’t do much better than the Hummer.”

CNET Roadshow

“These 35-inch tires are great, they’re good for you wranglers, but I ain’t got no spare. There is no spare in the Hummer.”

CBS Mornings

“The Hummer is back, and it’s leaving its 10 mpg legacy in the dust.”
