Tesla Model X Plaid vs. Lamborghini Huracan EVO: Drag Race [VIDEO]

After the Tesla Model X Plaid hit a 9.7-second quarter-mile in a drag race video last month, the electric vehicle (EV) is outperforming gas cars once again — this time versus Lamborghini’s quickest car currently in production.

The Tesla Model X Plaid took on a Lamborghini Huracan EVO in a new video from DragTimes shared on Monday, in which the Tesla shows how quick it really is.

While the Model X Plaid features 1,020 horsepower and the EVO just 640 horsepower, the difference is fairly balanced out by the fact that the Model X Plaid is almost 2,000 pounds heavier and has a very similar weight to horsepower ratio.

In the drag races, the Model X Plaid performs very well, having almost no trouble outsprinting the Lamborghini.

The Model X Plaid also reached top speeds topping 150 mph in the races, each time untouched by the Huracan EVO.

In 2020, a Tesla Model S Performance was seen taking on a Lamborghini Hurucan, which showed impressive jump speeds even before the automaker unveiled its Plaid versions of the Model X and S last year.

You can watch the full breakdown of the drag race series below, complete with more quarter-mile times under 10 seconds from the electric SUV.
