Tesla Model Y ‘Hotels’ Adorn this Mountainous Village in China [VIDEO]

Panzhihua

Tesla Motors has released on social media a mesmerizing promotional clip showing the impact of their electric vehicles in the day-to-day life of a small village in the Yunnan Province in Southwest China.

The four-minute video posted this Wednesday on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo focuses on a resident who returned to his hometown to open a hotel after years of living in urban hubs (via CnEVPost).

The electric vehicle enthusiast adopted Tesla automobiles to transport people and goods for his entrepreneurship, sparking a curious EV craze among the residents of the rural area, known for its idyllic mountainous landscapes.

Villagers now use their Teslas in novel ways. Some use them as high-tech vending carts using the car’s audio out feature to promote their products, while others even use them to camp outdoors, taking advantage of the clear glass roofs to stare at the spectacular night sky.

The American auto manufacturer also announced in the clip that the Township of Panzhihua is the first to have a charging station autographed by Elon Musk.

In June 2021, Tesla unveiled its Supercharger route in China, a project featuring 27 charging stations stretched over 5,000 kilometers —some 3,100 miles— along The Silk Road. The initiative is part of Elon Musk’s ambitious plan to create a 6,000-mile charging route from Shanghai to London.
