New Ford Connected Charge Station Design Leaks within Mobile App [PICS]
Ford may be planning a new Connected Charge station design, according to new images found within the Ford Pass iOS app.
The news comes from developer Steve Moser, who noticed the new images in the Ford Pass iOS app on Thursday. Looking at the image below, we see a design that is unlike the existing Connected Charge station.
Here’s the apparent new design spotted inside the Ford Pass iOS app:
…and here’s what the existing Ford Connected Charge station looks like:
It’s clear these are two different wall charger designs. The new Ford Connected Charge station moves the Ford logo to the top of the unit, and looks sleeker and more compact.
The existing Ford Connected Charge station supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and includes a 20-foot cord, while the charger itself is capable of a max output of 48 amps (11.5 kW), while also comes with a weather proof design.
“The Ford Connected Charge Station was designed for flexible compatibility with your Mustang Mach-E. Its weatherproof case and 20-foot cable allow for an easily accessible charge whether you choose to install it indoors or outdoors. And with the available FordPass App, you can also control, lock and unlock the Ford Connected Charge Station from a distance,” explains Ford.
Ford plans to ramp up its annual EV production to 600,000 cars by the end of 2023, and released a video yesterday detailing how it will make that happen.
