American automaker Ford has made it clear it plans to scale up its electric vehicle manufacturing to 600,000 units by the end of 2023. Today, CEO Jim Farley explained the team is determined to meet that goal, while also sharing a hype video detailing how it plans to do so.

“The @Ford team is unstoppable when we set our mind to something. Watch how we are going to scale up our BEV capacity to 600,000 by the end of 2023 – and that’s just the beginning,” said Farley.

The video details Ford’s upcoming investments in new factories in the U.S. and Europe, while also seizing the opportunity to act quickly and be nimble, in a move seemingly taken from Tesla’s playbook.

Ford reiterated how it was able to cut $1,000 off the cost of making its Mustang Mach-E in just 8 weeks, as teams worked to reduce parts and improve the manufacturing process.

The automaker used phrases such as “don’t bet against us” and “this isn’t our first rodeo” when it comes to making cars, with EV products the Mustang Mach-E, Ford F-150 Lightning and Transit commercial van, just the beginning of what it will be offering as part of its electrified line up.

Recent reports stated Farley wants to separate the electric side of Ford, in an attempt to achieve a higher valuation, similar to other EV startups and Tesla.
