Tesla has launched online sales of its Tire Pressure Monitoring System, priced at $75 USD each in the United States, available in silver or black. A set of four sensors will set you back $300 USD.
“This product is the original Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) equipped with Tesla vehicles,” explains the automaker.
The TPMS is compatible with:
Model S and Model X vehicles produced in 2021+
Model Y vehicles
Refresh Model 3 vehicles (those with chrome deleted door handles and trim)
These tire pressure sensors are not listed on Tesla’s Canadian online store.Update: They are now, and priced at $95 CAD.
For those that have a second set of wheels and tires, buying a new set of TPMS is helpful, especially for winter tire setups. Previously, these were only available for purchase from Tesla stores, but now they are online.
These TPMS sensors are powered by Bluetooth Low Energy. Once installed on each wheel, all you need to do is drive your Tesla and after a few minutes, they will configure themselves automatically. There’s nothing else to do to complete the installation.
